Hello Lacrosse Families!
We are excited for Spring 2021 Season and wish everyone joy this holiday . Your North Tahoe Lacrosse Board has been meeting (by zoom) regularly to prepare for the spring season. There is lot of planning behind the scenes but it so rewarding when the kids get to play. The High Sierra Lacrosse Board is very positive about our Spring 2021 season.
As you have come to expect, things will look a bit different than previous years and we will be following all the COVID protocols as appropriate. It is possible that the format of the game may change, and they are looking at a 7 on 7 or 8 on 8 format. With this in mind, we have also made some changes and would like to make everyone aware of them before registration begins.
NTLAX is always looking for new coaches and is presently recruiting a paid position of head coach. Please contact us to learn more if you or someone you know is interested in being a bigger part of the team. Our coaching protocols provide a consistent program to learn the rules of the game and prepare players for high school. High Sierra Lacrosse League provides training opportunities to parents that want to be more involved with youth in this great sport.
We love that players never want to part with at the end of the year and now they don’t have to! New this year NTLAX is offering personalized uniforms. Fresh and clean uniforms to keep the team looking sharp. At the end of the registration process, there will be a link for purchasing uniforms. We will disseminate uniforms appropriately in the spring. It will be very important for players to be registered on time to have a uniform for the season.
Participants will be purchasing a uniform tank, shorts and a shooter shirt. The system will assign numbers to the players based on when they register and that player will keep that number the entire time they play for North Tahoe Lacrosse. If a player has not outgrown their uniform, they may use it again for the following season. Shooter shirts and shorts may be handed down to younger siblings but each player will need to wear a uniform with their own number.
We strongly recommend personal helmets for better hygiene and protection. On the registration site there is a link to purchase the preferred helmet, but players may choose whichever type they like. North Tahoe Lacrosse team decals are provided on registration to adhere to the helmet. If your child already has a NTLAX team helmet they are welcome to continue to use it and donate it back to the program when your child finishes playing lacrosse for us. This will allow us to continue to recycle gear for new players and reduce cost for families that want to give it a try.
Our program has received many kind donations from families of outgrown gear, and we continue to offer that at no cost to players that need it. Please always consider this as an option for your used items that you no longer need. Please drop off any gear at 3065 Cedarwood Drive in Tahoe City (Coach Rob Basile’s house).
Unfortunately, we are aware this is a burden for some to increase cost, and we are working on the budget to reduce the cost of the registration to help balance this out. If you, or your company are interested in providing team sponsorship to help offset costs for those affected most by the pandemic, we will be accepting donations through the NTLAX board. Your team sponsorship makes lacrosse available to everyone in our community.
Please contact us if you would like to borrow team gear. It is our intention to have a “gear day” at the shed in Lake Forest prior to the registration so parents can order appropriate new gear accordingly. Date and times will be staggered to make this COVID safe.

Last but not least… We are trying very hard to get a girls program going for North Tahoe. If anyone would like to help with getting this started, please let one of your Board members know. We also need coaches for the ladies as well, so let us know if you know anyone with girls coaching experience or that would like to go to the coaching clinic that works too.
Stay well and thanks for being a lacrosse fan!
